I’m Telling You Walls

Find what you want or need to in this poem. It just showed up from nowhere.

I’m telling you walls,

stay firm on foundation,

don’t walk off this land on wheels or water,

protect me from wandering,

bolt me to earth.

I’m telling you walls,

hold rafters and roof

solid, lofty, and high,

not letting the starlight

fall in my eyes,

filling my heart with infinity.

I’m telling you walls,

don’t let them see through,

see the things I have hidden,

things precious and pure,

with memories of undeeded thoughts,

intentions encumbered with mishap and harm.

I’m telling you walls,

stop telling me

how much I desperately need you.
